Mabon Blessings!!

It's FALL!!!! My favorite season. Time for leaves falling, pumpkins, hot cider, soups and stews, a chill in the air, sweaters, the colors, Samhain/ Halloween, Hiking... ah...autumn I have been waiting all year.

Mabon was this week and I took a couple of pictures of my altar and thought I would share. So here is Walter the Altar all dressed up for fall... I am jokingly thinking of it as my falltar. And how great are those fall candlesticks which were $1.99 each at Goodwill.


I also got my Fall wreath together and up, though I may be altering it a bit. I think the little fat bird is a bit too much. What do you think?


This weekend is the Country Living Fair at the  Ohio Village. I am going with my mom and my Aunt Annie on Saturday. I'm really excited and hoping that I can get some pictures to share.

Mad Tea Party 2011

Welcome to my Party!! Feel free to grab a cup and a chair.  The table is set and waiting.  Pretty veggies... All kinds of berries... The tea service awaiting the first guests... Zoe looks frightened...she doesn't trust mad people (how does she live with me? lol) I am all dressed up and ready to party.  With my cupcake socks.  And my tiny top hat (received in an Alice swap)  Cupcakes, Berries and are those cucumber sandwiches.  Pouring the tea for my party guests.  Berries, Candy and a full cup o tea.  Quoi??  Having a chat with my very mad Mother.  My Mothers amazing tea hat.  4 pots of tea consumed hundreds of laughs  good friends lots of food What a fabulous party!!  Thank you for stopping by, have a fabulous tea day.  Clean cup, move down. Betsy's Gypsy Dreams

When I was a little girl I would sit on my front porch reading and dreaming that the gypsies would come to take me away. I loved the music, dancing, color and whimsy of the gypsy. Their spirit spoke of freedom that my mid-western soul could not help but envy. I wanted to run away and find my place among those beautiful people.  And as an adult I still do. I love to dress in what I think of a a gypsy style.
