Anything can happen on Halloween (or Samhain, or DOTD)


My favorite season has come and gone, and now it is Nowember. We had a fun and interesting Halloween though, marked by parties, street festivals, pumpkin destruction, and goal setting (at least on my part.) Right now I have a house full of bats, spiders, crows, witches and pumpkins, and my dumpster is FULL of the remains of 40 pumpkins. My hair has been professionally washed and trimmed to fix all the damage from three weekends of curlers and big hair. I have been a psychotic baker and a pageant kid (a la honey boo boo). I have baked 3 dozen cookies, made many dips, decorated one pumpkin, and frantically searched for more. I saw a Halloween drag show, ate pumpkin ice cream and found out how delicious cider is with caramel vodka. Overall it has been a fabulous couple of weeks. Mad Tea Party 2011

Welcome to my Party!! Feel free to grab a cup and a chair.  The table is set and waiting.  Pretty veggies... All kinds of berries... The tea service awaiting the first guests... Zoe looks frightened...she doesn't trust mad people (how does she live with me? lol) I am all dressed up and ready to party.  With my cupcake socks.  And my tiny top hat (received in an Alice swap)  Cupcakes, Berries and are those cucumber sandwiches.  Pouring the tea for my party guests.  Berries, Candy and a full cup o tea.  Quoi??  Having a chat with my very mad Mother.  My Mothers amazing tea hat.  4 pots of tea consumed hundreds of laughs  good friends lots of food What a fabulous party!!  Thank you for stopping by, have a fabulous tea day.  Clean cup, move down. Betsy's Gypsy Dreams

When I was a little girl I would sit on my front porch reading and dreaming that the gypsies would come to take me away. I loved the music, dancing, color and whimsy of the gypsy. Their spirit spoke of freedom that my mid-western soul could not help but envy. I wanted to run away and find my place among those beautiful people.  And as an adult I still do. I love to dress in what I think of a a gypsy style.
