Magical Mondays - Embracing Balance.

Magical Monday

Rune(s) of the Week:

Gebo: Gift: You are being called to examine what you give to the world and how you receive blessings. A gift is being offered to you; if you accept it freely, you must become more giving in return. The cycle of exchange must not be broken.

Tarot Card(s) of the week:

3 Card Spread - Head, Heart Spirit

Head: 12 The Mirror: Patience and prudence are the keywords here, although trust plays a large part in the process of crossing to the island where insights into our own unconscious workings may be revealed. This process differs from the journey of the Hooded Man, who makes a conscious decision to withdraw and contemplate the universe. In the Mirror, a surrender of will is required. Insights may come from dreams and meditations, but now is not the time to force the pace or drive on with a plan or desire until you have heard what your soul has to say, and your bruised and wounded spirit has been healed. Be patient. Let the journey commence and awaken afresh and full of energy, ready to deal with the world and the challenge it raises.

Heart: Three of Stones - Creativity: The practical manifestation of creative energy requires a clear and open channel to the inspirational forces and impulses of the universe. Allowing this energy to flow through you is a rich and rewarding git in itself. Just as releasing your dreams and desires to a universal consciousness always brings a response, so the releasing of creative energy invites into the artist the healing and enriching fuel from which further insight and visionary stimulus flows. This emotional and spiritual relationship with divine inspiration allows the subconscious mind to delve deeply and summons the intuitively creative power that actualizes work. Artistic beauty takes many forms and presents itself in a variety of ways, but the relationship with the subconscious formative energy, whether through music, painting, sculpture or poetry, reminds us of the personal and intimate connection we all should share with the universal consciousness.

Spirit: King of Bows: Adder - Meaning: At this time of year, the Adder represents serpentine Earth energies rising from the ground into the ait and intertwining, as male adders struggle for dominance. (Sometimes this is mistaken for a mating ritual) They also represent magical power, balance and the healing arts.
Reading Points: Maturity, strength or resolve, energy and wisdom. The genius and individuality of the seeker is enhanced and rewarded at very turn. Your leadership is unchallenged, your path direct, your goals realized.

Thoughts:
This week I am beginning an online  challenge hosted by the lovely Melissa Lopez of The Hive. The Embrace Balance Challenge looks like this:
What does balance in your life look like?
What kinds of things do you think about when you think about having balance in your life?
How much does feeling balanced have to do with what’s happening on the inside of you as opposed to what’s happening on the outside of you?

Interested in getting curious about some of this stuff? I am!

Beginning on August 21st through September 21st, a group of us will commit to exploring balance in our individual lives for about 4.5 weeks, ending (almost) on the Fall Equinox (when day and night are equal, totally balanced).

Here’s how it will go down:

1. Confirm your participation on this event page by clicking GOING. If you click GOING, the Universe and I will know that you are committed!

2. Between now (whenever you are reading this ☺) and August 21st, you’ll consider how you would like to bring more balance to your life (whatever that means to you—I’ll share my plan of action as an example) and create a plan of action. Your plan of action can include ANYTHING:
Exercise
Bellydance
Meditation
Yoga
Family time
Friend time
Alone time
Working on a new habit, like journaling, sleeping in, waking earlier, being outside more
Nutrition
Self-care rituals
Practicing a musical instrument
Financial stuff
Day dreaming
Self-compassion
Doing nothing time
Changes to your personal environment
Attitude adjustment
Gratitude practice
etc. etc. etc.

While you’ll be creating your plan based on what you know you need, I’m asking all participants to include/consider the following:
+When planning physical goals, be sure to allow rest/recovery time

+Please include a minimum of 2 sessions of meditation per week, for a minimum of 10 minutes for each session (I’ll record a few meditations and either share them live on FB or post them to YouTube)

+JOURNAL! I’m finding that keeping track of stuff is helping me make the changes I want in my routine and helping me build habits in my physical world, but more importantly new thought habits! Many of us can identify lots and lots of ways we’d like to adjust things. When creating goals, consider how you will measure your achievements and try to build in small wins, or ways to reward yourself for staying on track. I’ll share a calendary-like template in the FB group to help guide you in creating your plan and breaking it down into weekly and daily goals. You can keep track in any way you like, but I will encourage you to commit to tracking your progress, both at the start and end of your day. Once you’re in the swing of it, the time it takes will be small compared to the benefits you’ll receive. You can use the journal template I provide, or do whatever makes the most sense.

+While classes are NOT mandatory for participation (I hope a few of you out of towners will participate) we’ll have a class time devoted just for challenge participants on Weds from 7:15pm-8:00pm, August 24th, 31st, September 7th, and 14th. We can celebrate the end of our challenge together at The Hive’s wine tasting on Wed, September 21st, 7pm. The challenge classes at The Hive will include a lil’yoga (for all levels) and meditation. (If you come to class, this will count towards your 2 meditation sessions per week.)

3. Anytime before August 21, introduce yourself and share your plan with our private FB group. (If there are private things you’re working on and it feels too vulnerable to share in the group, please feel free to private message me your plan. I’ll still encourage you to share as much of your plan with group as you feel comfortable.)

4. Each Sunday participants will post 3 wins (achievements) from the week, 3 ways they’ll make the next week even better.

5. I’ll be posting each morning to help us get our day off to a great start and will ask participants to respond.

Recap:
1. Commit to participation by clicking GOING on THIS event page.

2. Mastermind your plan of attack action. (Remember to include journaling/keeping track and classes if you plan to incorporate them!)

3. Introduce yourself and share your Plan of Action in the FB group. (FB group will be active beginning August 7th)

4. Weekly: Post your wins from the previous week and what’s going to go better the next week.

5. Daily: respond to Melissa’s prompt in the FB group, track and consider your progress in the A.M. and P.M.

6. Approach the whole thing with curiosity and compassion towards yourself. The end goal to all of this stuff is that we learn more about ourselves and put that knowledge to helpful use in our lives. Period.

I'm not trying to rush summer or anything, but when we consider the harvest season, we're on the downswing. This is the perfect time of year to dig in and think about what our harvest might look like and how we can postively affect all the stuff we're working on. The Equinox is all about balance. Let's allow nature to guide us as we examine our own natural rhythms.

So, who is in??
You have until August 21st at 5pm to join.

There's no fee to participate in the challenge! If you plan to attend the Wed challenge classes, you can use your class pass, pay for a drop-in or it's included in your unlimited Hive membership.

OH! You don't have to be a current student of The Hive to participate!! You also don't need to be local!

I think this fits right into the reading I had today. I am hoping to prepare myself for changes that arte coming down the road to be dealt with. Wish me luck.

Blessings!
